MAAP Occupational Health Committee Results
Workplace injuries and illness can be prevented. Information about where, how, and why working people in Massachusetts are getting sick or hurt on the job is needed to develop effective prevention strategies. Public health data can guide the development of new, safer technologies, educational activities, and regulatory and policy changes to make workplaces healthier and safe.
MAAP works with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to publish and circulate quarterly Occupational Lung Disease bulletins. In addition to providing basic information and education on work-related asthma, it also summarizes years’ worth of reported cases. Finally, it provides a form for recipients to document and report their own cases of work-related asthma. All past bulletins can be found here.
